Puperita Bright Flowers Baby Dress

Our little baby niece is coming to visit and of course I had to sew for the occasion!

A few weeks ago I was chatting to the lovely Miss Annalisa from Puperita Patterns about my PDF pattern designers list. This prompted me to have a browse in her pattern shop and I found the perfect baby dress for winter (you know, being in the southern hemisphere and all).

So here is my Bright Flowers Baby Dress :)

The main fabric has a tiny criss-cross pattern. It is subtle without making the dress look too plain. The lining was cut from a vintage tablecloth. It is so soft from all the years of washing!

The pattern has a heart detail at the neckline which I just cut straight, and I also left off the bow that was included. I wanted something simple and sweet.

I do have to say, Annalisa loves some hand stitching in her instructions, so I changed them up a bit. Though, this did cause me a few headaches. I don't have a very thorough process for making up my own instructions, I just imagine all the steps in my head. When it comes to sewing I usually forget some vital detail... such as when seams should be finished before construction! I should have pressed the seams upwards at the bottom of the bodice but without thinking I pressed them open. Oh well it all looks beautiful  inside now.

Go on over to the Puperita Facebook page and have a browse. Annalisa is honestly such a lovely lady and her patterns are great :)

There are no babies around to model yet so teddy just had to do. Lol.
