Going on a trip across the country

Hey guys, how is KCW going? I have been enjoying sewing along properly for the first time in a few seasons. Yay. Anyway I have some news to share with you all.

In a couple of weeks we are going on a huge camping trip. HUGE. As in possibly 6 or 7 weeks long. Maybe even 8. A total of 5,383km or 3345 miles. All up 59 hours one way. I don't even know if 7 weeks will be long enough.

Our final destination is Exmouth, Western Australia. It is absolutely beautiful and I hope I can bring home plenty of pictures to show you all. Here are some great images I found, it is whale shark season there and we plan to try and go snorkling with them.

So I thought I better warn all of you, my lovely readers. I will have some posts coming up, but the blog will be running on autopilot :) We will be leaving on April 22nd and returning some time in June.

I am no camper so we will see how we go! Haha, would you be interested in hearing about our adventures?

Absolutely!! My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I did this trip in the opposite direction 10 years ago and it was AMAZING!! I hadn't camped before either but you get into the swing of it soon enough. If you need any tips on where to visit in WA let me know ;) Can't wait to hear all your adventures!

  8. Oh wow! We did that trip in 1969, ending at Dampier - when it was mostly ungraded dirt road. Mum and 5 kids in a Holden wagon. Please post lots of pics of what's whizzing by your windows. I'd love to see how much it has all changed from the red dust goat track we bumped along. Yours will be the experience of a lifetime.

  9. Do make sure you do have enough time.. one of my sisters and I did a 4 week trip last year, where originally we wanted to do the same sort of leg like you.. but we would be starting from Ballarat (where my sister lives).

In the end we completely changed our minds as it just wasn't long enough to get there and back and really enjoy ourselves and the countryside.

In the end we did Kangaroo Island and then up to the Flinders Ranges and places along the way. Get onto tripadvisor and read up about where you are going.

I started blogging about on my other little blog (in-my-backyard.net) and didn't quite finish it..

Wherever you go or whatever you do.. enjoy yourself. This country is bloody amazing.
